Porcelain stoneware , having a high transmittance and good thermal conductivity (equal to about 1.3 W/mK), is one of the best materials to use in the case of underfloor heating as it shows a greater aptitude in transmitting heat through thermal conduction . For better heat diffusion and less dispersion, it is possible to use large-sized porcelain stoneware slabs with a thickness reduced to just 6.5mm which allow the heat to spread constantly and evenly. Indeed, the use of large-format stoneware ceramic slabs requires a bed full of adhesion(i.e. a layer of adhesive under the ceramic slab free of air bubbles) which, together with laying with joints reduced to a minimum, favors an immediate heat transmission benefit.

In addition to the traditional installation on screed with glue , the porcelain stoneware slabs can be installed dry, by means of interlocking installation . It is thus possible to create intelligent flooring that integrates sensors and control modules under the laying surface for a house equipped with home automation technology, full of innovations and functional for reducing energy consumption.
